Edam Cheese

Open Country Edam Cheese is a pressed semi hard to hard cheese. It is made from skim or semi skim milk which reduces the fat content and sets it apart from its near relative Gouda which is made from whole milk.  Mild, clean and slightly more delicate in flavour, Edam is a sweet curd cheese usually consumed young, when the texture is elastic and supple. It has a sweet and nutty flavour with a smooth body.

Application Ideas:

Edam Cheese is suitable for cut and wrap for block and portion markets, shredding and for slicing. It is a very versatile cheese suitable for the cheeseboard and also as a cooking cheese due to its good ‘meltability' at all stages of maturity.  It is also good for further manufacture in to cheese spread and cheese sauces.

Pack size:

20kg vacuum packed in polyethylene bags.  Cardboard wrap around cartons.
